October 30, 1955 – March 15, 2016
On March 15, 2016 the gospel community found out that Daryl was in fact on his “death bed.” There were so many premature announcements that it caused both frustration from some and unavailing hope in others. Either position was way too much to deal with as we grasped the fact that the man who was more than likely the greatest male vocalist in all of gospel was about to leave us for a place that would appreciate him more.
