Relentless Indeed. Now that both pastors, Carpenter and Gray, and now that both churches are in full transition mode, we are now learning that name of the South Carolina mega church, built and lead for 27 years by Pastor Ron Carpenter, will be changed.
John Gray, currently the associate pastor at Lakewood Church under the headship of Joel Olsteen, has now inherited the church and has chosen it’s new name, Relentless Church.
Not only that, but there is an ever so slight buzz of a new praise and worship leader who is a mainstream gospel artist.
This is not the only time the church shocked the area by bringing in an established artist in to expand its music ministry. Todd Galberth who charted #1 Billboard in 2016, is the current worship pastor and will be staying on as a praise and worship leader at Relentless Church.
Nevertheless, who could the new praise and worship leader be? Is it a man?…a woman? Perhaps the new leader is no further away than a connection to who is already ministering at Redemption Church. Either way, I am anxiously watching as there will no doubt be an overwhelming wave of support for John Gray that will surely lead to some of the most amazing talents to the ever growing yet still quite small city of Greenville.
May 13th 2018 will be John Gray’s first service as pastor of Relentless while it will be Ron Carpenter’s first service at Jubilee Christian Center in San Jose, California. The official installation date will be June 2-3, 2018 (see post below). Also see one of Pastor Gray’s first church services (below).
